In a quiet zone on Almaty’s South side, just a few kilometers away from the vibrant city center, and on the way to the footsteps of the Tyan Shan Mountains, Medeu and Chimbulak ski resort, you will find this highly recommended local restaurant.

My dad is a passionate travel nomad and every time he visits Kazakhstan he makes sure to eat at **Manana** restaurant at least once or twice!

As you enter Manana, you can't help but be taken aback by the goat receiving the guests, lavishly occupying a couch in an embroidered dress.

The restaurant is casual and relaxed yet quite refined. It is specifically designed for cozy family dining. Its large room holds about 40 tables and is organised around comfortable sofas, armchairs of pastel colours, large windows, and lush greenery.

Its menu offers a variety of traditional and modern Georgian specialties (khachapuri, khinkali, satsivi, kharcho, chakapuli, kebabs) as well as European dishes. The food is delicious and the service very friendly.

And my dad never finishes a meal without ordering their sirnikis (Slavic cheese pancakes). He swears they are some of the best he ever tasted.
