LA is one of the most multicultural cities in the US and in the world. With people and influences from all around the world, you can find a little bit of everything in this city. 

With a craving for filled dumplings, pickled vegetables, and comforting potato and meat dishes, I wanted to find the best Polish food in LA. 

This is when we discovered **Solidarity** restaurant in Santa Monica.

### The Food

Starting with the most important, the food at this restaurant was undoubtedly delicious. We ordered a mix of dishes to get the full experience and try a variety of different things. First, we all shared a small plate taster which consisted of some traditional polish foods, including kielbasa (polish sausage), pierogies (polish filled dumplings), placki (potato pancakes), and mizeria (cucumber salad). These were all staple dishes worth trying. You could order full sized portions of each, but I thought it was a great option to have a sample platter for everyone to try and share. 

Then we ordered another sample platter of different types of pierogies. Pierogies are a traditional Polish dumpling, made from dough and stuffed with various fillings - often potatoes, cheese, meat, mushrooms, or even sweet fillings. These are one of my all time favourite comfort foods so I was very happy to find them in LA. This platter had pierogies with four different fillings and served with some fried onions and sour cream. Overall, very delicious and a must-try Polish speciality, we even ordered seconds!

Our final main dish was called the Long Island Crispy Duck. As you could guess, it was a crispy duck dish served with some sauce and sides. I would definitely recommend this dish for anyone who eats meat. 

Then, of course, dessert. We had a chocolate cake and strawberry crepes. You can't go wrong with either, but the strawberry crepes were really incredible. 

### The Restaurant

The restaurant itself had a great atmosphere and space. We went for dinner so as it got darker there were lots of cute little lights and heat lamps. 

Overall I had a great experience at this restaurant. The service was great, we had fun cocktails, and the food was delicious.
